  2. Good use for a wedding gown. I'm still dragging mine from house to house after all these years and moves!!

I have wanted to cut up my wedding gown and my daughters bridal dresses they wore in each others weddings. None of use really care about them. I just might now!!! LOL

  6. Thanks to everyone for stopping back and leaving a comment. They mean a lot to me... to hear your responses to my art validates that there are indeed good reasons to blog.

I know it seems like sacriledge to some to cut into a wedding dress, but when the event is history and the dress can no longer be used as is then why not cut into it rather than dragging is from house to house. The under layers just take up space so cut them out and toss them. Keep some big chunks of the lace, especially special laces that often decorate the bodice, and use bits in some way when your child or grandchildren marry, and then use the rest for your art, or at least in your scrapbook or to complete your wedding album.

  7. I really love your collages, I just went through your blog entries since you came back from your long trip. There is so much here! I am a friend of Paula McNamee, and found your blog through her.

I love your paper strip sewing, may have to steal that idea! The drawing of trees on the plainer collage is lovely!
