The Sketchbook Project - Eastern Oregon

Eastern Oregon

Here's the spread with a photo taken in Pendleton last May showing a wide landscape of fields and a big sky. I found just the right green washi paper to extend the grasses in the left foreground and other bits of papers to extend the fields on either side of my photo.

  5. Thank you all for your comments. Once again you've made my day by taking the time to write.
Now that I've played with this method of working with photos, extending them with watercolor, drawing, and collage I'm thinking of other ways to use the technique. Of course I could use larger photos and bigger substrates... why not start with a quarter sheet of watercolor paper and an 8x10 photo? Or go the other way with my little Moleskine journal and start with a business card sized photo.
All ideas are welcome. Let's talk about this some more.
