What's Going On? |
This piece is 30" x 10", collage on canvas.
Strips of words, painted papers and a few appropriated images from current publications show the chaos of society... the layers of conversation, opinions, stress, and moments of calm which reflect today's life.
This is fabulous! One of my very favorites!
ReplyDeleteThanks Mary. That means a lot coming from you. We both like color, don't we?
DeleteOh my gosh, YES!
Delete30x10! great size..and I love how it looks. I bet it would look great in any room!
ReplyDeleteIt is an interesting size and shape, about the same as tearing a full sheet of watercolor paper lengthwise, and it would work great for landscape paintings, too. At home I have this hanging vertically.
DeleteLovely layers! For some reason I'm attracted to stacks, strata and layers. Not sure what that means!
ReplyDeleteMaybe it means we like old stuff! I used to play on Slate Hill. We kids would hike over the top of the hill that was beside my house, crawl over a barb wire fence and sit on the slate layers at the top and ride down on our bums, not knowing the danger of loose pieces of slate or of lurking rattlesnakes.
DeleteI also like old buildings with peeling paint, stacks of lumber, bricks, dishes. I'll bet you do, too, Robyn.
Loving the look to this and happy for you that the tack iron worked for you..
ReplyDeleteLove this collage Jo, awesome!
ReplyDeleteThanks Hanna. It's good to hear from you.
DeleteWow, Jo, I adore this -- it's just stunning! I love playing with torn paper, and this fabulous work is such an inspiration.
ReplyDeleteYou're my new BFF, Bonnie. I love compliments.
